Our company started as a one man business back in 1950. Today Gesco Signs Ltd is one of the leading sign companies in Malta. Mr Joseph Dingli, being very much artistically motivated, began experimenting with hand engraving. Later on he imported his first engraving machine and soon founded the first sign company on these islands. At that time engraved plastic nameplates were something of a novelty, but slowly orders were coming in and from his garage at home he moved his office to Valletta. Manufacturing illuminated plastic signs seemed the next logical step for Mr Dingli, a qualified electrical fitter by profession. Once again new premises were acquired and in the early sixties Gesco Signs moved to Gzira, where it still is to this day although in a new building built in 1982.
Today the company can offer a wide range of products and services not just to individual clients but also directly to other sign companies.
Edge-lit signs (especially for emergency exits) and directional signs are a must for complexes and hotels. Manufacturing and installing illuminated signs is perhaps what Gesco Signs are best known for today, not to mention computer cut 3D lettering and logos in acrylic, PVC, aluminium, brass and stainless steel and of course self-adhesive vinyl stickers for shop windows and company vehicles.
